Thanks to excellent work by Images Bedrooms at Hayes on the console, Alan Bishop for raising the cross and DM for configuring and installing the equipment we have had a working system since November 30th 2007. During December we learnt how to use it. During January we settled into a pattern and have been documenting how to make it work.

In brief, Bill will produce his orders of service as usual. This will be converted to a schedule containing instructions for the sound and vision needed. To start with, this will be done by Terry Gibbs and Terence McKee.

We have a small team of people who operate the controls at the console.  Some services just need a person to operate the sound      system. Others also use the camera or the DVD player. A computer is used when we want to project words or images.

Some of the stewards have volunteered to be operators – so we are looking for new stewards to attend at the Grove entrance. They man the inner door and assist latecomers to find seats. They no longer have to operate the sound system.

Please contact Dawn Neighbour or Stuart MacIntyre if you are able to be a steward.

If you are interested in finding out more about becoming an operator, please talk to Terry or Terence or email them at youareseeing@ntlworld.com. It will help if you are able to be painstakingly accurate, keep calm when things go wrong and have a good sense of humour! We are happy to demonstrate how it works to  everyone interested; there is no obligation to become an operator.
