Looking towards Easter

It is with regret that the Fellowship Committee decided to close Fellowship meetings from 17th March, as we realise how important this weekly outing is to many people. This meant that we did not have the chance to share our experiences of jobs we held after leaving school. We also missed the fabulous talk from Clare Walker called ‘Founding your own orchestra’. In the last week of March we were looking forward to meeting with our friend Reverend Hazel O’Sullivan from the Church of England in West Wickham, but sadly that was not to be either.

We did however, welcome two local Police Community Support Officers, who gave us helpful advice on ‘Fraud awareness and scam prevention’. Unfortunately this is all too relevant, especially amongst the more vulnerable members of our community. Also, we had the pleasure of a visit by Neil Sadler, who regaled further tales of his career as a Police Officer.

This is the start of an unknown period for us all as the coronavirus brings many changes to our daily lives. We have been asked to stop group meetings and to self isolate to protect older and vulnerable people but we do not know how long for. With this in mind, we cannot plan or publish a Fellowship programme for the summer season. Rest assured that you are all in our minds and we will bring the Fellowship back together just as soon as it is safe to do so. Please look in Emmanuel Life for updates. In the meantime, if you have any concerns, need any support, or just want to have a chat, please do not hesitate to call me – home: 020 8462 5860; mobile: 07984 326 415.

Every blessing to you and keep well,
