As lockdown continues, many of us are keeping in touch with phone conversations, but it’s not quite the same as being able to chat to a few friends at the same time. Following the example of some other churches, we are going to try holding a virtual coffee morning on Friday 1st of May at the usual Friday coffee time of 10.30 – 12 noon using the Zoom platform – something I had never heard of until a few weeks ago but am now using regularly. Zoom has a facility for placing people into small groups – rather like how you might sit around a table in the James Todd room – so we won’t have 50 (or more!) people all trying to talk at the same time!
Zoom works on computers, tablets and smartphones; if you don’t have access to any of these it’s also possible to call in from an ordinary phone.
For those of you on email we will send round a link a day beforehand with more instructions; if you’re not on email we will get in touch via phone.
You need to supply your own tea or coffee, but hopefully we can enable the chat!
