Summer Fair and Barbecue

Everyone is warmly invited to come along to Emmanuel’s Summer Fair and BBQ which will be held outside on the green after the Family and Parade service on 24th June. If it rains it will carry on in the church hall.

There will be a bouncy castle, raffles, games, tombola and other stalls. There will be free tea, coffee and squash also barbequed burgers and hot dogs and you are invited to bring your own picnic too.

We are very grateful to Laura Barber and her team of helpers for organising this event. Thanks also to our Mission Committee and Pat Best for organising the bouncy castle. This year’s charity is Seeds4Tanzania who work with various development and educational projects in one of the world’s poorest countries.

In the weeks leading up to the event there will be two cardboard boxes in the new vestibule and donations for the bottle tombola stall and chocolate tombola stall will be gratefully received.

Come along and have fun and help Seeds4Tanzania.

Simply the Best Musicals

You are warmly invited to a light hearted entertainment performed by Leap Productions. This is a special show created as a tribute for Nicola, remembering some of her favourite songs from the musicals.

The ticket will include the entertainment and a ploughman’s supper. Please reserve June 28th-30th in your diary; for more information please see David or Pat Best for tickets. 25% of profits will be going to the charity Young Minds.

Thank you for supporting the quiz night. Thank you also for your kindness and prayers, it has been very much appreciated.

Oberammergau 2020 (Sold Out)

As you will have seen from recent church magazine articles Marion and I are planning to lead a party to see the famous Passion Play in Oberammergau in the summer of 2020. This is organised by McCabe’s Pilgrimages with whom we have travelled many times in the past. The dates of our visit are 31st July—7th August 2020. The play has been performed every 10 years by the people of this small German town since 1634 in gratitude for their deliverance from the plague which devastated Europe at the time.

Our trip will include 5 days in the Austrian Tyrol prior to the climax of our journey – the Passion Play.  We will spend the final two nights in Oberammergau itself. We shall be visiting among other places, the beautiful city of Salzburg made famous by its associations with Mozart and “The Sound of Music.” We shall also be visiting Berchtesgaden set in one of the most scenic parts of the Bavarian Alps where Hitler had his mountain retreat – the Berghof (Eagle’s nest). The brochures and booking forms giving full details are now available from Marion or myself. Unfortunately this trip is now full.

If you have any questions please do speak to Marion or myself.
