Teesdale and Weardale Search and Rescue

On the 5th and 6th of June I will (hopefully!) be taking part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge as part of a team led by the Durham University Charities Commission in aid of Teesdale and Weardale Mountain Rescue Service. The challenge is to climb the tallest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales in one continuous attempt, with only the minibus drive to the next mountain breaking up the hiking! As you may imagine, this is a huge endurance challenge so we are hoping to raise a good amount of money for the mountain rescue service, who will be assisting our attempt. I know this is not a local charity, but if you could donate, that would be wonderful, and please do so via this link:

and if you can’t use the link please get in contact with my parents.

Also, if the actual physical challenge wasn’t hard enough, as part of the fundraising, I am running a half marathon in April with my dad!

Thank you very much for any donations.

Prayer for COP26*

God of Life. Our planet is dying. We are responsible for the destruction of species and eco-systems. Save us for our death-dealing systems that rely on fossil fuels that strip-mine the commons that convert Your natural world into cold, hard cash. Give us wisdom and courage to find new ways of living. Empower our children … Continue reading Prayer for COP26*

Lunchtime recital by Ian Verran

As Ian comes to the end of his 28-year stint as organist and choirmaster, we are delighted he will be giving a lunchtime recital on Friday 16th October at 12 noon.  Under current coronavirus guidelines for performing arts, the practical issues like hygiene, seating and venue capacity are pretty much the same as for worship.  … Continue reading Lunchtime recital by Ian Verran

Harvest Service

This year, we will be marking Harvest on Sunday 27th September, when we also take up our donations to Commitment for Life. Sadly, it’s not possible to make this a parade service with the uniformed organisations, nor to arrange a harvest lunch together, nor to enjoy an evening service of Harvest Praise led by our … Continue reading Harvest Service
