Focus meets on Thursday 9th February at 8 pm in the James Todd Room when we will continue our journey through Acts. Then on 23rd February our Lent Course begins which will be run in conjunction with Focus on Faith.

Lent Course 2012: “An Old Testament Journey through Lent” The Risen Jesus said to his disciples – “This is what I told you – everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” Then he opened their minds so they could understand the    Scriptures. (Luke 24:44-45) That will be one aim of our 2012 Lent Course to open our minds so that we can understand the things concerning Jesus referred to in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament). The other aim is to help us to open our hearts to the wonders of God’s grace and love revealed in the birth, life, death and    resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. As in 2011 we are pleased to share this Lent Course jointly with             Emmanuel, Elmers End and East Croydon URCs and we are doing so again this year. I shall be spending a few days during February at Westminster College,     Cambridge putting the course together and I hope as many of you as possible will come along on three of the Thursdays during Lent (see below) and share in the ‘journey.’ 23rd February Emmanuel URC, West Wickham 8th March East Croydon URC 22nd March Elmers End Free Church (URC) Meet at 8 pm – refreshments will be served.
